Maple season is literally in the air at Helmer Nature Center.

 And with maple sugaring comes our annual maple sugar events -- the Maple Sugar Open House and the Annual Pancake Breakfast.  Here are the details:

 
Maple Sugar Open House

Celebrate the Maple Sugaring Season with us!  Walk our trails as we take you through the sugaring process.  Help collect sap and stop at the evaporator to watch it cook into syrup.  Sample maple treats and view blacksmith exhibitions.  Kids will enjoy fun crafts and activities throughout the day.  Visit the "Maple Inn" and enjoy maple baked beans, maple pulled pork and other tasty treats!  Admission is FREE, nominal charge for food and some activities.

DATE:  Saturday, March 21

TIME:  12:00 PM - 3:00 PM

PLACE:  Helmer Nature Center (154 Pinegrove Ave.)

 

Pancake Breakfast/Brunch

Helmer Nature Center's pancake breakfast is a 30-year Irondequoit tradition!  Enjoy all you can eat pancakes with real, made on-site, maple syrup!  Brunch also includes sausage, milk or juice, and coffee.  Tickets available at the door -- cash or check only, please.  $8 Adults/$6 Children 5 & Under/ $7 Members

TIME:  10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

PLACE:  Irondequoit Senior Center (154 Pinegrove Ave.)
