Mrs. Leah Daniels-Farren appointed

Mrs. Leah Daniels-Farren was appointed West Irondequoit’s Assistant Director of Counseling, Student Equity and Wellness at Thursday night’s Board of Education meeting. She is expected to start in her new role on April 17th.


"We are extremely excited to welcome Mrs. Daniels-Farren to our leadership team,” said Superintendent of Schools, Aaron Johnson. “Mrs. Daniels-Farren is an experienced teacher-leader whose background and expertise in supporting student health and academic success complement our needs very well. Her passion and creativity will definitely be a value add in our pursuit of restorative practices, social-emotional learning and growing our special education services."

 

A West Irondequoit resident, Mrs. Daniels-Farren has worked in the Victor CSD for the past 8½ years, starting in 2014 as an early childhood psychologist and moving on to the same role in the senior high school in 2016. Last July she became the Psychologist Department Chair at Victor while also serving as a Teacher on Special Assignment, working closely with the district’s special education directors and pupil services team. She was the school psychologist for Allendale-Columbia in Pittsford from 2010-14.

 

Mrs. Daniels-Farren earned her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from SUNY New Paltz and Master’s degree from SUNY Oswego. She is currently pursuing her Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration.


The Newark native and her husband, Tyler, have two young children. Their son, Grimm, is in kindergarten at Southlawn and they have 3-year-old daughter, Phaedra.
