Mr. Chuck Miller, a veteran educator and former West Irondequoit CSD principal, will be the Interim Principal at Rogers Middle School starting Sunday, Aug. 1. He succeeds Ms. Michelle Flood, who will step down at the end of this week. An Irondequoit High School graduate, she has been Rogers’ principal for four years and served previously as a 4-6 teacher for more than 20 years. She will return this fall to teaching at Iroquois.

“Michelle has served Rogers well and is leaving behind solid relationships and a building focused on the success of every child,” said Aaron Johnson, Superintendent of Schools. “Thanks to her leadership, Rogers is a warm and welcoming place for all children to learn, laugh, and play together with many unique opportunities for discovery and enrichment. Thank you again to Ms. Flood for her wisdom and devotion to our Rogers Middle School and the West Irondequoit community!”

Mr. Miller will tentatively serve in the Rogers’ leadership role through Monday, Sept. 13. He brings extensive experience as a past middle school principal in our district at Iroquois and can help successfully guide the planning and preparation for a smooth school reopening in September. He is currently the District’s Director of Data. The district expects to welcome the new Rogers’ principal on Monday, Sept. 13.
