Voters in West Irondequoit passed the 2023-24 District Budget and R.I.S.E. Capital Project proposals on Tuesday, and incumbent John Vay and newcomer Victoria Bournival, who were running unopposed, were elected to fill the two vacant seats on the Board of Education.

Voter turnout was strong at the St. Paul Fire Department. The District Budget passed with 71% of the vote; the Capital Project passed at 58%. You can view full results at THIS LINK.

“I want to thank our community for coming out and supporting both the District Budget and the Capital Project,” Superintendent Aaron Johnson said shortly after the results were announced. “I also want to congratulate and thank our Board of Education. You folks began planning this budget well into last September and you’re driven by what’s best for our students. That’s what I appreciate the most about working with you – that you consistently anchor yourselves back to that.”

Thank you to the community for its support!
