K-6 Report Card Changes
West Irondequoit is changing its Report Cards for Kindergarten through 6th grade starting with the 2025-26 school year. The change comes after years of research and evaluation of the current K-6 Report Card format, then refinement after input, including surveys, from stakeholders. We will transition from four quarterly K-6 Report Cards to trimesters, or three Report Cards:
- One in the Fall (early December)
- One in the Winter
- One in the Spring
In addition to timing, the format will change. There will be revised indicators on performance levels to more clearly communicate student progress as well as to align with NYS Education Department standards. Grades 5-6 formatting won’t see as much of a shift. Our goal: To better communicate student learning to families and members of the learning team through a clear and concise Report Card that represents the whole child.
