Grades K-3
Housed in 6 small neighborhood schools throughout the district, the K-3 program of studies emphasizes the mastery of academic skills and the development of a positive attitude toward learning. These schools include Brookview, Briarwood, Colebrook, Listwood, Seneca, and Southlawn Schools. Individual learning styles are taken into consideration and a variety of support services complement an individualized approach. K-3 counselors provide in-class lessons in problem solving and friendship skills. Our kindergarten program will include a full-day program beginning in the Fall of 2016.
Grades 4-6
Children continue their elementary program of studies in grades 4-6 at Iroquois and Rogers Middle Schools. Grade four operates as a self-contained classroom which provides for a seamless transition from the primary grades. Fifth and sixth graders participate in a semi-departmentalized program and receive instruction for half of their day in a "core" program which includes an English Language Arts block. The children change classes for their other subjects including Math, Social Studies, Science, Art, Music, Physical Education and Library Media. Counselors provide in-class lessons in problem solving, decision-making and study skills.
Grades 7-8
The Dake Junior High School staff support the development of 21st century citizens through rigorous, relevant learning experiences. Seventh and eighth graders at Dake are members of 1 of 5 academic teams, allowing teachers to meet and plan instruction for a group of shared students. In addition to the core subjects of Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies, seventh and eighth graders are enrolled in Technology, Foreign Language, Health, Home and Careers, Art and Music courses. The Dake Counselors focus on career education and continue to teach children increased skills in problem solving and decision making.
Grades 9-12

Irondequoit High offers an extensive program of studies in technology education and business, as well as a variety of trade-related courses in conjunction with the Eastern Monroe Career Center at BOCES #1. Project Lead the Way, DECA and our strong World Language Program allow students to further deepen their studies in a particular area.
Other features at the high school include a highly supportive College & Career Center and mass-media broadcasting experiences via the student-run radio station and television studio.
