Princeton University acapella group with IHS alum to perform

Let’s kick off March – Music in our Schools Month – with some bonus material for our students! They’ll get a special treat next week when the Princeton Katzenjammers, the oldest mixed voice acapella group in the country, performs at several of our schools. One of its members is 2023 Irondequoit HS graduate, Madison Anderson! The Princeton University junior is a former member of the IHS Chorale, Choristers and Sweet 16, formerly played violin in our Pit Orchestra and worked or performed in eight IHS theatre productions. A fun part of the week will be when the Katzenjammers, who were founded in 1973, sing at Colebrook. Not only was that Madison’s elementary school, but her brother, Lucas Shriner, is a Colebrook kindergartener. The Katzenjammers will also perform for the public three times locally:

  • Saturday, March 7: 7 p.m. at the Hochstein Performance Hall with University of Rochester singers. Tickets (use “WICSD” code for a discount)
  • Sunday, March 8: 3 p.m. at OFC Cafe, 3450 Winton Place. Tickets
  • Sunday, March 8: 7 p.m. at Writers & Books, 740 University Ave. Tickets
