Hello families:

There has been a great deal of national attention in recent weeks on changes to federal assistance programs and the impact they may have on families across the country. We understand that these shifts, combined with the general rise in costs for everyday essentials, can place added strain on household budgets. Our district wants to assure you that we are mindful of these challenges and remain committed to supporting the well-being of every child and family in our community.

Thankfully, we have strong local partnerships that help ensure no family faces these challenges alone. Organizations such as Foodlink and Irondequoit Community Cupboard continue to do incredible work supporting families through food assistance and outreach programs like our District's Backpack Program, which provides important weekend and break-time food support for students. We’re also grateful for our dedicated food service team and the success of our free universal meals program – a vital resource for many.

If your family could use additional support or would like more information about local resources, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your school counselor or building administrator. We’re here to help connect you with the many supports available in our community. Click this link to see more, including an attachment from Foodlink.
