Therapists at IHS

In conjunction with Black History Month, the IHS College and Career Center invited four local Healthcare Professionals to speak with nearly 50 IHS students Friday about their career and the need for diversity in their fields. Panelists were Mrs. Jeanine Connor, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist; Mr. Justin Connor, a physical therapist from Rochester Regional Health;  Ms. Aurore Dorsinville, a PT for the University of Rochester specializing in women’s health and Dr. Wilhelmina Sizer, a Nurse Practitioner in hospital medicine. After the presentation, panelists visited the Commons with students who wanted to know even more.

Mr. and Mrs. Connor are both IHS alumni and parents in our district. Mr. Connor is also a member of our Board of Education.

“We are fortunate to have people like Mr. and Mrs. Connor and their associates who are willing to take time to inspire our students, especially students of color,” said Superintendent, Aaron Johnson, who was in attendance at the IHS Auditorium. “Their message about finding mentors in the field who can support you was impactful.”
