Dear West Irondequoit families: PASSN (Parent Advocates for Students with Special Needs) is a subcommittee of the West Irondequoit PTSA. The group will begin meeting monthly starting next week on Monday, Feb. 19th at the Irondequoit Public Library. The meetings are a venue to promote support and collaboration for parents/caregivers of students with special needs. Any WICSD parent/caregiver is invited to attend. Meeting topics will vary based on interest of the PASSN group and will be relevant to the needs of special education students. Topics may include an overview of the CSE process, strategies to support neurodivergent children, and transition to post-high school. Next week's meeting will be a meet-and-greet for families.
