Driver License Online Permit Test at IHS

To qualify, you must be:

  • A current IHS student
  • At least 15 years old. You may take the test at 15 but cannot get your permit until you are 16.

Step 1: Go to the Counseling Department and see Ms. Blyszczak to sign up for the Online Permit test (there is a limit per permit testing date). A DMV manual will be provided if needed to study from. On the day of the test, come to Counseling after 9th period with your laptop fully charged and you will be set up. The test usually takes about 30-40 minutes. 

Dates are:

  • June 5, 6

Step 2:  If you passed the test, a barcoded receipt and other paperwork will be printed for you to take to the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)  as proof of completion. A fee of approximately $75-80 will be due at the DMV to complete the process.

Step 3: Go to the DMV With your parent or guardian, your packet of information that was printed after passing the online test, proper identification (i.e. birth certificate or school ID, and payment).
