Generations of Excellence Scholarship
Each year a new class of graduates joins our Alumni Association. Many of those graduates are following in the footsteps of parents and grandparents who are also alumni of Irondequoit High School. In 2004, the West Irondequoit Alumni Association began to showcase this tradition of excellence by awarding the first Generations of Excellence scholarship. In 2021, the scholarship amount was increased to $500.
To be eligible for this award, graduating seniors must have a parent or grandparent who is a graduate of Irondequoit High School. They must be a good student who works hard in school. They must also be planning to attend a two or four year college or vocational school. Applicants must write an essay telling of their experience belonging to a family that has had two or more generations of students in West Irondequoit Schools and must provide two letters of recommendation.
