Irondequoit High School is the 26th best school in the nation for teaching financial literacy and ranks ninth in the country for mid-size schools, according to W!se, which recognizes excellence in personal finance instruction.

The lofty rankings are a credit to the 140 business students enrolled in the IHS Career & Financial Management course taught by Lou DiCesare, Jeanine Lent and LaVon Bucciarelli and the students' achievement on the W!se financial literacy assessment taken at the end of the course.

Congratulations to the team at IHS and our students for earning this very high-level recognition,” said Aaron Johnson, Superintendent for the West Irondequoit CSD. “The sustained excellence of our programming symbolizes the work you have all dedicated to fostering this over time and the climate you've established.”

First published in 2013, the 100 Best W!se High Schools national ranking recognizes the top 100 performing high schools in W!se’s national network, which showcases excellence in financial education. It is the only national ranking of its type among W!se’s national network of schools that participate in its Financial Literacy Certification program.
