Although West Irondequoit CSD does not qualify to host a summer meals program, our students may receive food at other local schools as part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Summer Food program. We've partnered with nearby districts that are able to provide FREE SUMMER MEALS for children 18 and under. ID and registration is not necessary and there are no income requirements.

In planning for the 2022-23 school year, please note that the free meal waiver that started in August of 2020 in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic ends next week on June 30, 2022.

What does that mean to families?

Effective September 2022, families will need to fill out a free-and-reduced meal form in order to receive free breakfast/lunch benefits for their children. Those who do NOT qualify must pay for meals. Starting Sept. 7, 2022, meal prices will be:

  • K-12 breakfast: $1.80
  • K-12 lunch: $2.95

If you submitted an application in 2021-22 and were approved, your child will receive benefits until October 18, 2022. A new application must be submitted an approved to receive benefits after that. The 2022-23 Free and Reduced Meal Application will be available online this summer on the district website under Food Services and will also be in the annual “Back to School” edition of The Quote newsletter mailed to all families (and online).
