Superintendent, Dr. Aaron Johnson, announced at the final Board of Education meeting this school year on Thursday night that Claire Steckley has been selected Irondequoit High School’s outstanding senior. She will be part of the Dr. Michael C. O’Laughlin Outstanding Senior Recognition program on Fox Rochester at 7 PM, Tuesday, June 29th. It also will appear on 13WHAM.com. This is part of a Monroe County BOCES 2 program that features students from around the area. Claire was in National Honor Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society. She played alto saxophone in Wind Ensemble, served as editor of the school newspaper and was a multi-year captain in Nordic Skiing and an All-Monroe County player in field hockey. The secretary of her senior class, Claire is headed to the honors program in chemical engineering at Villanova University. She also was one of three student representatives to our Board of Education this year.
