Details on times, morning entry points to IHS

Doors open at 7:15 a.m.; pool entrance at back of IHS no longer will be open

In an on-going effort to maximize security at Irondequoit High School, we continue to implement procedures in the morning and throughout the day based on feedback from Irondequoit Police and the community. Here is important information for students and parents:
  • Students can be dropped off as early as 6:45 a.m., but only at the main entrance. They may wait in the Commons Area until IHS opens at 7:15 a.m.
  • IHS officially opens at 7:15 a.m. and students may enter through the main entrance doors on Cooper Road or the north doors facing Dake Junior High School by the bus loop.
  • It is important to note that the pool entrance doors at the back of IHS will no longer be an entry point in the morning. Students who previously entered the school via the pool doors will need to enter the school through the North doors facing Dake by the bus loop. This will assist with traffic flow in the back of the building as well.
From IHS Principal Doug Lauf: "Thank you in advance for your patience, flexibility, and understanding. Our goal is to maintain the safest and securest environment for our students."
