Lifeguard Certification Course

American Red Cross training prepares lifeguards with skills and knowledge necessary to keep patrons of aquatic facilities safe in and around the water. This class includes CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer. This blended course format is comprised of both online and in person hours. Participants must attend all dates and times as scheduled within the session to complete the training. Participants must be at least 15 years old to take this course. Cost of the class includes Lifeguard manual, CPR masks, and Red Cross Certification. No goggles or masks will be allowed to be worn. A swim suit and towel will be needed everyday.
There will be a physical pre-test on the first day of class that includes:
-300 yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke,
-Treading water for 2 minutes with no hands  
-20 yard swim to retrieve a 10 lb brick from at minimum 9 ft deep water, swim                 another 20 yards back to wall and climb out in a time of 1:40 or under.
-Exit pool from the water to the deck without ladder or assistance
If it is determined that a student does not have the necessary water skills to successfully complete the Lifeguard Training Course, a refund will be given.
