Southlawn teachers recently held a special day – a 2nd annual “Schwa Day.” The “schwa” sound is the most common vowel sound in the English language and consistent exposure and awareness to it is essential for growing readers.

Congratulations to Alyssa Arcarisi! The fourth-grade teacher at Rogers Middle School received a Golden Apple Award from WROC-TV after being nominated by the D’Annunzio family!
Learning from Veterans
"Irondequoit HS Remembers: A Living History," was held March 25 at IHS, as 40-plus local veterans spoke with students in small groups. It's the fourth straight year IHS has hosted the event! Watch the 13WHAM-TV video.
