Dear Parents,

Use the lists of words above to practice sight words at home.  Here are a few suggestions.  Make a deck of sight word cards using 3x5 cards.

Play bingo - draw a six square board on plain paper, write the words to review randomly on the board, use the deck of cards as calling cards.

Play Go Fish or Memory, for this you will need two sets of words to be reviewed.

Use any board game, instead of rolling the dice use a deck of sight word cards and move one space for each letter in the word.

Play Tic Tac Toe, instead of x's and o's use sight words.

Write the words in shaving cream or sand.

Write the words in rainbow colors using 4 or 5 different colors to trace a word, write the words with paint, chalk, markers, or with a wet paint brush.

Highlight words in magazines or newspapers.

Play Guess my word.  One player chooses a word from a selected set of words without telling the others.  Player 2 tries to guess the word always spelling his guess.  For example, player 2 might say, Is the word big. . .b-i-g?  Player one responds yes or no and spells the word back again.

Read, read, read, and read as often as possible.
