April Poems

April Fool

by Carolyn Sue Peterson

This Spring

The birds won't sing,

The flowers won't bud,

There'll be no rain or mud.

Grass won't turn green,

Toads won't be seen,

Ice won't melt on stream or pool

April Fool!

Tulips

by V. W. Lachicotte

In the garden

Tulips grow

Straight and golden

In a row.

Each one holds its

Empty cup

Drinking rain and

Sunshine up.

Tree Climbing

This is my tree,

my place to be alone in,

my branches for climbing,

my green leaves for hiding in,

my sunshine for reading,

my clouds for dreaming,

my sky for singing,

my tree, my beautiful tree.

by Kathleen Fraser

Little Bunny

There was a little bunny who lived in the wood.

He wiggled his ears as a good bunny should.

He hopped by a squirrel.

He wiggled by a tree.

He hopped by a duck.

And he wiggled by me.

He stared at the squirrel.

He peeked round the tree.

He stared at the duck.

But he winked at me!
