June 2010 Dear
Seneca Families, As
I read the quote by Alex Noble, “Success
is not a place at which one arrives but rather the spirit with which one
undertakes and continues the journey,” I am exhilarated with the
success that all of our children made this year and delighted that they are
ready to continue the journey as they move onto the next grade level. The month of June brings us much to
celebrate of our journey together at Seneca this year. Each day our children experienced many
opportunities for academic, social/emotional, and physical growth as they
developed a sense of responsibility, respect, kindness, and caring throughout
our school community. We honor you, our families, for the
important role you play in fostering excellence in education! Your support of the greater school
community as well as a belief that every child deserves the best is the best
gift of all. Our children are
successful because of your partnership, your active engagement in family nights,
reading to and with your child, volunteering in multiple ways, and your
energetic spirit to support learning both at school and at home! A special thank you to Mrs. Tori Mroczek, Mrs. Diana Pratt,
Mrs. Susan Nichols, Mr. Jeff Depoian, and Mrs.
Annemarie Depoian, our PTSA building representatives
and to all of our committee chairpersons and volunteers for all that they do
to enrich our experiences for the children of our school. Our PTSA is responsible for coordinating
our cultural arts events, service projects, family activities, pizza and hot
lunches, special events, staff appreciation week, and participation in the
Next-to-New sale (just to mention a few).
Additionally, our room parents are invaluable in helping the teachers
to coordinate classroom events and field trips. Your support is overwhelming and most
appreciated. Thank you to our School-Based Planning Team
representatives, Mrs. Micki Aratari,
Mrs. Ann Sojda, Mrs. Colleen Atallah,
Miss. Melissa Kelly, Mrs. Randi McCormick and Mrs. Colleen Graham, and our
parent representatives Mrs. Susan Nichols and Mrs. Lisa DeNunzio. Your participation on our shared-decision
making team ensures success for all! As
we come to the close of our school year we hope that you are able to join us
for our June events that celebrate the end of a very successful year. Many thanks for all that you do on behalf
of our children. Enjoy a wonderful
summer and enjoy the extra time the summer brings to curl up with a good book
and read with your child! With
Gratitude,
Michelle
