Who is an authority?

An authority is a person who knows a lot about his or her field, subject, or occupation.  Authorities can be experts in several areas, depending on their jobs or hobbies. Look at the list below to see what some jobs cause people to know.

Florist -- What colors of flowers look well together, how to design the shape of an arrangement, how to price and sell flowers, how to decide what people will want to buy, and how to grow and care for living plants
