Meet our New Leadership Staff

 Please welcome these educators to their new roles
 Michelle Flood picture

Ms. Michelle Flood is the new principal of Rogers Middle School. Miss Flood brings a wealth of experience to this position, including over 20 years as a grades 4-6 teacher. During this time, she received numerous awards, including the PTSA Honorary Lifetime Award and multiple Excellence in Teaching awards. She was also the 4th grade Team Leader for nine years and the ELA Summer Program Co-director for multiple years.

Recently, Ms. Flood has served as a Teacher on Special Assignment as a Reading/Math Intervention Teacher and, this past year, as K-12 Social Studies Supervisor. As Social Studies Supervisor, she was deeply involved in curriculum design and implementation, teacher supervision, and teacher professional development.

Ms. Flood holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from St. Bonaventure University and a Master of Science in Education from SUNY Geneseo. She will complete her Advanced Certificate in School Leadership at the University of Rochester in August 2017. 

 
 
 Brenna Farrell picture

Ms. Brenna Farrell joins WICSD as K-12 English Language Arts Supervisor. Ms. Farrell served as Director of English Language Arts for Grades 4-12 in the Rochester City School District for three years and is currently the Executive Director of English Language Arts for RCSD where she has full supervision of the district’s ELA and literacy programs. Her responsibilities have included providing instructional support for classroom teachers, analyzing assessment data to identify instructional needs and supervision of teachers. Ms. Farrell’s vast experience includes designing and implementing systems at the district, building and grade level in support of student needs. She has served on numerous statewide committees to inform the revision of NYS English Learning Standards and development of assessment items. She has taught ELA, in both urban and rural settings, and has served as a dialogue facilitator for the Community Center for Teaching Excellence. 

Ms. Farrell holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Psychology from Canisius College, a Master of Arts in English Language and Literature from the University of Toledo, and both a Master of Science in Educational Leadership and a Master of Arts in Education from Brooklyn College.

 

 Michael Rehbaum picture

Mr. Michael Rehbaum joins WICSD as Director of Technology. Mr. Rehbaum came to us from the Spencerport Central School District where he served as Director of Technology Operations. In that capacity he oversaw the design and implementation of instructional technology including co-design of a new comprehensive technology plan. He designed a budget and worked to realign curriculum to support the district’s 1:1 laptop initiative and oversaw the migration to Microsoft Office 365.

Mr. Rehbaum began his career in education as a social studies teacher, and then moved to the role of computer resource specialist. In 2004 he joined Monroe 2 BOCES as an instructional technology specialist, moving to Spencerport in 2005. He has co-taught with teachers in every grade and subject area to challenge students through the use of technology embedded into district curriculum.

Mr. Rehbaum earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Longwood College and a Master of Science in Education with a major in Educational Technology from Nazareth College. 

 

 Kimberly Schon pictures

Ms. Kimberly Schon has been appointed Director of Athletics.  Ms. Schon served as the Director of Athletics in the Gowanda CSD for four years and as Director of Physical Education for five years. Her experience includes hiring, evaluation and supervision for all athletic coaches and volunteers, managing the athletic department budget and coordinating community relations. Ms. Schon was a standout women's basketball athlete at both the high school and college level and was a team captain at both levels. She has used this experience to teach and mentor student athletes across all grade levels. Specifically she has been a head varsity girls basketball coach while also coaching volleyball, track and cross country. She was instrumental in starting a girls lacrosse program at Gowanda and has led programs such as Girls on the Run, the Character Council of Western NY and Crisis Prevention Intervention.

Ms. Schon earned a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from SUNY Brockport and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from St. Bonaventure University.   

 

 John Conti picture

Mr. John Conti has been appointed Executive Director of Operations and will oversee the Department of Environmental Services, including all operations and maintenance, as well as security and health services.


Mr. Conti has taught occupational education for more than twenty years. His extensive experience includes a strong mechanical background, including automotive, construction systems, electrical, and plumbing. In addition, he has significant leadership expertise as both the Occupational Education Coordinator and the Occupational Education Contact Teacher as well as experience working as the liaison between the Project Managers and the West Irondequoit Teachers' Association during the 2000-2004, seventy million dollar construction project.

Mr. Conti earned a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Technology Education from SUNY Oswego. He holds a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Administration from SUNY Brockport.
