BUSINESS

Students Compete
in
the Regional DECA Competition
Over 160 Business students from Irondequoit High School competed
in the 2007 DECA Regional Competition on Friday, January 5 th
. The event took place at
DECA (an association for marketing students) was organized in 1946
around an ambitious goal: to improve educational and career opportunities in
marketing, management and entrepreneurship for students. In the years since,
DECA has remained on the cutting edge of educational innovation, working with
the business community to integrate academic achievement with career and

There are nearly 50 different competitive marketing events for
students to participate in and learn about the field of marketing and business.
Irondequoit Business students traveled to MCC to test their knowledge in their
chosen event, which includes both team and individual events. There are only
four finalists awarded for team events and six for individual events.
