  Barn Owl

by Jackie

Do you want to know more about birds?  All birds have beaks.  Did you know birds have hollow bones?  All birds have two wings; most birds have a field call.  Birds  have different feet and they have two  legs.  That' s for sure!  Birds also have a good sense of hearing.   Did you know birds lay hard-shelled eggs?

Most birds can fly.  All birds are vertebrates.  Birds are amazing aren't they?

One of the most widespread birds in the world is the barn owl.  It is brownish black and gray.  It has a white heart- shaped monkey face ,small dark eyes and long legs.  The adult birds height is 15-21 inches and weighs 20 ounces.  The wingspan is 44 inches.  The Barn owl has one of the most blood -curdling calls of any North American bird: a loud hissing   shriek often given in flight.  The  Barn owl habitat is near a  lot of mice and rats so thy could eat.  The Barn Owls habitat is were it lives.  The Barn owl can have up to 10 or 11 eggs.  The female is in incubation for about 28 days at lest.  They eat rats , mice , and other dead stuff.  I just love the Bran Owl don't you?  Did you know that the Bran Owl is a bird of prey?  Aren't Barn Owls Amassing!
