Dear Parents and
Guardians,
It’s hard to imagine at this point that
another year is coming to a close. It has been such a busy and productive
year! Your children are truly amazing! I have watched them grow and seek
new challenges throughout the year both within their classes and beyond.
They have had great success in Odyssey of the Mind, Student Council, Math
and Science Olympiad, numerous published book reviews and poetry, the
Knowledge Bowl Contest, and The Reading Marathon.
Just around the corner is summer vacation and the opportunity to reflect and
rejuvenate before September. While we have many celebrations and events
scheduled for June, it is important to remember that it is also a month
when significant learning takes place. We encourage all of our students to
do their best and maintain their focus on the important learning
opportunities ahead.
Our success is dependant upon many people,
especially all of parents and family members. We could not have the rich
programs and events that we do without your help. In
particular, our thanks to our Iroquois PTSA representatives Nancy Buckley,
Karen Rand, Diane Colao, and Lorraine
Till. They have done
an amazing and admirable job in coordinating so many functions and events
during the school year. Together with the staff, I would like to express
our appreciation and gratitude to them. We are grateful for their talents,
creativity, unending efforts and commitment to our
school.
I would like to remind parents and children
about the Summer Reading Program that our district has organized along
with the Irondequoit Public Library. The program is designed to encourage
children to read during the summer and to provide guidance to parents in
helping their children select the best of children’s literature. Details
about the Summer Reading Program are included in this newsletter.
I wish all of our students and their
families an enjoyable, restful and safe summer. I look forward to seeing
you in September!!
Sincerely,
Charles Miller
Principal
