Word Processing

            The word processing program used at Iroquois School is called Microsoft Word.  This program is introduced in 4th-grade and reviewed at the beginning of the 5th-grade and 6th-grade year.  The following lab rules are followed when doing word processing:

-Save your document after creating your heading and every 10-15 minutes while typing.  

-Double-space between your heading and title.

-Center title, and capitalize each major word.

-Double-space between title and text.

-Indent at the beginning of each paragraph.

-Use one space after comma.

-Use two spaces after other punctuation.

-Check capital letters:

            -beginning of each sentence

            -proper nouns

-Read document again

            -revise:  better words, better sentences

-Use spell check.

-Edit for capitalization and punctuation.

-Proofread before printing.

-Save before printing.

-Proofread after printing.

-Correct.

-Reprint.
