Organizing Web Page Files

While there are many different ways in which you might organize your web page files, this method is a good one!  And it is the method preferred by the web master in West Irondequoit.

1. Select a place to save your web pages and associated files (usually pictures).  This could be your computer's hard drive, a floppy or zip disk, or a network drive.
2. In the selected storage area, create a folder and name it (usually your last name).  This is the main folder for your web page.
3. Inside the main folder, create another folder and name it Images.
4. Store your pages in the main  folder.  When you select an image, store it in the Images folder before you place it on your web page.
5. Remember, everything must be stored in the same place.
