Adirondack Mountain Club

The Adirondack Mountain Club's (ADK) goal is to provide you, the volunteer, with the unique opportunity to give something back to trails. Our volunteer projects are inherently educational and include not only trail maintenance and reconstruction techniques, but also low-impact camping and natural history. Ultimately, we will complete a quality trail project that will protect the natural resource for many years. You are guaranteed a fun and rewarding experience participating as an "ADK Trails Volunteer"!

Montezuma NWR Needs Volunteers.
The Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge needs volunteers. Volunteers are needed most to staff the Visitor Center information desk (some knowledge of birds and wildlife helpful, but not necessary) and The Lodge Gift Shop. Training will be provided. Other needs include landscaping around the Visitor Center and Headquarters Office, “roaming naturalists” to make contact with visitors out on the Refuge grounds (knowledge of birds, wildlife and plants required), program planners, and light office duties. If you would like to volunteer, please call 315/568-5987, ext. 228 or email Andrea Stewart.

The Nature Conservancy

The Nature Conservancy was built on the dedication of volunteers. Today we still rely on their support. Our trustees volunteer their time and more. And across the region, volunteers help us build bridges, create trails, monitor properties, count turtles, remove invasive species, stuff envelopes, organize files, lead hikes and much more.

The Ocean Conservancy

The Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup is the largest and most successful volunteer event of its kind. Each year, thousands of volunteers from around the globe participate, clearing tons of trash from coastlines, rivers and lakes and recording every piece of trash collected.  Volunteers in Monroe County cleanup coasts locations such as Durand Eastman Park, Seth Green Fishing Access, Genesee Valley Park and others.

A list of nature organization is available at InfoRochester.
