The Project:Students engaged in the design of an experiment to determine the density of a human subject using a variety of methods. The objective of this experience is to compare and contrast the accuracy of the various methods of volume determination for irregular shaped objects. Students designed procedures, tested them in scaled down versions, made modifications to their procedures, and then conducted their experiments in the pool. Students then evaluated the various methods using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
