homework Generally practice in mathematics is considered essential for master of the material. You will get a homework calendar that will outline daily required assignments. Part of your homework will include reading summaries and outlines. Projects and take homes are in addition to nightly homework. Any odd problems will have the answers in the back of the book - you are expected to check your answers not only for accuracy but also for style. The review book contains all answers. Your homework calendar is essential to stay abreast of the course work. If you do not know how to do an assignment - use the tips in the book, come in for help before school, get help from the math department center, or write an explanation for what in the problem you find confusing. Since homework counts as 15% of your grade, it is a substantial grade. You start out with a 100 - keep it! Each missed assignment is a 5 point deduction. Quizzes/Tests/Take Homes/ Projects < Quizzes, Projects - as announced for weight < Take Homes - usually between 20 - 25% weight. You may get help on these! There are major deductions taken for late work, and they may count for 0 if too late. < unit tests 100% weight. Corrections for credit are due on the date announced. An explanation of the correction is required for credit. < final Project is a major portion of the 4th quarter grade. More details will be forthcoming at the appropriate time < ap examination is required of all students in the class. This grade is not part of the course grade. Averages are displayed on the side bulletin board under each student’s own personal number code. Averages are routinely updated. Students should verify that their grades are accurate. supplies Pencils, homework folder (4), a huge spiral notebook -might need 2, Calculator - TI -83 Plus. The Amsco Review Book is required and available through the bookstore. class rule you may not distract from the learning. This means, for example, you are in your seat ready to go - homework out - when the bell rings. Latecomers get three strikes and then detention.
