Classroom Expectations

The typical day in Spanish Class looks like this:

*Come in the classroom, get seated

*Write "La Tarea" (homework) in your planner

*"Hagan Ahora" (Warm-up) activity

*Introduction/Notes on new material or practice of old material

*Activity to practice new material (usually we do 2-3 practice activities)

*Closing activity: usually a practice of the days material or/and extending question to challenge the students with the new material or concept.

*Talk about that night's homework.

Homework is given 3-4 nights a week.  I rarely give homework on Friday nights, however, there is always an exception now and then.

All homework is graded!!

Students need to have a 3-ring spiral notebook with dividers, paper, and a few pens or pencils.  They MUST bring that notebook every day to class!!!!  I do check notebooks every few weeks to make sure that they are in order and that the students have all of the materials.

I recommend that the student has a Spanish-English dictionary at home to help with homework.  Any dictionary that you can buy at Barnes and Nobles or Borders is acceptable.

Quick Note: Use of on-line translators is unacceptable and ILLEGAL!!  Any use of on-line translators on homework or projects will result in a zero for the assignment!!
