The Foundation is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1987 to raise funds to provide educational enhancements for students in the West Irondequoit School District.  The Foundation made its first grant to the district in 1990 and since then, has granted $439,000 to the district. These funds have been used to purchase equipment such as computers, library technology, musical instruments, and science and math equipment, as well as fund pilot programs such as the Kids' Institute and Home to School Literacy Link.
