The Board of Education is composed of seven West lrondequoit residents who are elected by district voters for three-year terms at the annual district election in May. The Board elects its officers a president and vice president - at its organizational meeting in July. Two student representatives, chosen by the high school body for one year terms, also sit with the Board during business meetings. The students are entitled to participate in discussions and to have their votes, though unofficial, recorded in the minutes. The School District Clerk is appointed annually by the Board of Education. The Superintendent of Schools serves as the chief executive officer to the board.
