The
Irondequoit Community Cupboard is a not-for-profit
organization designed to meet a variety of needs for
families and individuals in the Town of Irondequoit,
NY.
Mission
Statement To serve families and individuals in
need that reside in the Town of Irondequoit, by providing
assistance without bias or prejudice.
We accept and appreciate donations of food, health and
hygiene items, school supplies and financial
assistance. We are excited to now accept
PayPal.
Dear Friends, Irondequoit
Community Cupboard has seen tremendous change in our community
the last few years. We have seen the evidence of job layoffs
and budget cuts. We have seen gas and utility prices rise
dramatically. We have seen seniors struggle to pay for their
medication, utilities, taxes and food while trying to remain
in their home. We have seen families who are unemployed
or more often, underemployed. And yes, we have moved to
a new location where it will cost us more money to maintain
our services. We need YOUR help. Every single dollar makes a
difference. We ask that you please make a tax-deductible
donation to "help us help others." In these times when so many
of us live paycheck to paycheck, you never know when YOU might
need our assistance. The Irondequoit Community Cupboard's
board of Directors would like to thank the people of the town
of Irondequoit for allowing us to help so many people this
past year. Our cupboard, which operates year round serves an
average of 59 families per month! We help people who are
unemployed, underemployed, disabled, those on social
security and those who just occasionally need our help.
Because of your generosity of food, hygiene items, cleaning
supplies, and money we have served 597 families this past
year. That is food for 12, 567 meals!! Thank you for all of
your donations. Thank you to all who were so generous to the
cupboard during our newsletter drive, we appreciate your
kindness! Our cupboard is in need of energetic volunteers
who will help us solicit donations of food, school supplies
(for Back to School Night which is in late August) and
gifts for the upcoming holidays. We also need energetic people
who are willing to coordinate food drives through their
churches, schools and other organizations. Our food cupboard
relies on the efforts of our
wonderful community.
