1.
Select a “STUDY BUDDY”
(another Emerald Team member) to call if
any questions about an assignment should
arise when you are absent from school or
need extra help.
2.
Establish a specific time and a quiet place
at home to study and do
homework. Make
sure that your planner and homework folder
are taken home with you each night. A
dictionary or thesaurus is strongly
recommended at home.
3.
Work for short periods of time with breaks
in between instead of spending hours at one
task to the point of exhaustion.
4.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help-from your
teachers, your parents and your study
buddy.

1. Help your child with the above suggestions.
2. Monitor
homework! Check homework folders
and planners daily and ask to see completed
work. Get your child into the habit of bringing
the homework folder and planner home every
night.
In this way, you can see completed
assignments even if done that day in study
hall.
3. Ask about exam
grades, quiz grades, etc. Ask
to
see these papers. You will know when exams
are given, if you check the assignment planner
daily.
4. Please contact
us at school if we can be of
assistance
