Dake Women's Choir

The Dake Junior High School Women’s Choir is a select group of 8th grade girls that are interested in an advanced musical opportunity.
It meets every day during the first half of the girls’ lunch period (6th).
The Women’s Choir performs repertoire from a variety of cultures and time periods. All of the pieces are in 2, 3 or 4 parts. For many girls this is their first opportunity to perform this type of repertoire. The music is challenging and will serve to improve the girls’ vocal technique and overall musicianship.
Women’s Choir does not fulfill the music requirement for students and each girl must also be enrolled in chorus, band, and/or orchestra.

From the members of Women’s Choir I expect:

Mutual Respect
The members of Women’s Choir should be an example to their peers in their other music ensembles. They should constantly be the models of respectful students and good musicians.
Concerts:
Girls will attend all scheduled concerts unless they are ill or have a family emergency. Please take note of the concert dates and add these dates to your family calendar.
