West Irondequoit Prepares 2015-16 Budget
School districts in New York State will hold their annual Board of Education election and annual budget vote on Tuesday, May 19, 2015. As the West Irondequoit CSD prepares the budget, residents are invited to learn about the proposal in a variety of ways.
The Board meets twice a month on Thursday evenings, agendas and supplementary documents for each meeting are posted on the District Web site. Residents are always welcome and there is time reserved for public comment early in the meeting. The board will be discussing proposed expenditures during the month of March.
In early May, the Board will hold budget presentation meetings where residents can learn about the proposal, ask questions and share their thoughts with the Board. A video of the budget presentation will air on ICAT 15 in May and will be available on the Web site, along with our news show, Conversations with the Superintendent.
Residents can expect to receive the district newsletter, The Quote, in the mail in early May. The publication will provide detailed information on the proposed budget and biographies of board candidates.
Throughout the spring, the district Web site will be updated as information becomes available. Questions regarding school finances may be directed to Assistant Superintendent for Finance James Brennan at 336-2993 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The district also posts reminders and updates on Facebook and Twitter. Residents are invited to follow along at West Irondequoit CSD. On the Web site and Facebook the district will share questions they have received throughout the budget process and will provide answers.
