Procedures:
|
Background:
·
What is a geologist?
·
What might a geologist do?
·
Why is it important to have
geologists working with governments, builders?
·
Provide students with an overview
of project; including explanation of objectives
Process:
·
Have students view power point
presentation while listening to script;
students should note
taking as presentation is being given
·
Allow for discussion/questions as
presentation is viewed
·
Upon completion of presentation,
allow students to discuss notes and slides in groups.
Students should add
to their notes, if needed, during this time.
You may want to allow students time to spend one
class period researching the slide topic at the
computer lab.
·
Have students identify the most
interesting slide to them and write a description of this slide for the class
power point.
(Teacher may want to assign slides--this part can be done individually
or in small groups.)
·
Once students have completed
their descriptions, they will add the text to the slide show.
