Presentation for parents to give an overview of academic and curriculum expectations.  Explanations for routines and rituals within the classroom.

Teacher Materials/Resources:
(specific materials the teacher must have to conduct the lesson, e.g. Romeo and Juliet (video), American flag, etc.)

·                     computer connection to television

·                     power point slide show

·                     copies of power point slide show for note taking-one per student desk

 

Procedures:

Presentation will be narrated by the teacher providing visuals via the power point slide show. 

 

Assessment:

Parent acceptance and understanding of information provided; questions asked after presentation is completed

Special Comments:

Using a power point slide show combined with introductory remarks enables the teacher to cover important information without omitting any accidentally.  In addition, the material can be covered in a short period of time.   It also provides parents, by giving them a note taking copy, a reference they can use at home.
