Brief Description:

Students utilize the wireless laptops to research the history of the atomic model. Research was done in the following areas. Pre-1900 model Rutherford's Gold Foil Experiment The Photoelectric Effect Bohr Model of the Atom The Standard Model of the Atom Groups collected information and presented in the form of a comprehensive Powerpoint presentation.

Introduce students to the historical contributions made in the early to mid-20th century regarding our understanding of the atom and the energy that lies within the atom.

Students will investigate historic experiments that bring us to the current model of the atom. Students will create a presentation that encompasses all required information on their assigned research topic. Students will present their presentation to the class Students will apply their knowledge of Modern Physics to a unit exam.
