Title:

Atomic Structure Jeopardy Review Game

Brief Description:

Students collaboratively review the chemistry topic of Atomic Structure by playing an interactive Microsoft Powerpoint review game.  This technology rich lesson can be done in both large group and small group applications.

Procedures:

Large Group – divide class into 3 equal teams and determine the rotation of play.  Keep score on whiteboard / chalkboard.  Students receive points for correct responses, but lose points for incorrect ones. 

Small Group – divide students into groups of three and assign a laptop computer to each group.  Have students play each other.  Differentiate by allowing some groups to use notes, while other do not.

 

Assessment:

Assessment of this lesson will be in two forms.  First by monitoring the responses of the different groups to the review questions.  Second, all students will be assessed on a unit exam.
