- Read and list the component
parts of the news magazine
- Choose an overall topic, and
topics for articles
- Children write articles (4-5
sentences each) and draw illustration in pencil
- Teacher scans pictures into
computer, and types in articles
- Teacher makes copies for each
child

Assessment:
|
Children write articles that fulfill the topic choice,
using varied sentences and interesting vocabulary. Illustrations are
pertinent to the topic.

Special Comments:

It takes
a little while to figure out the layout, but once you’ve done it, it should
work for future “issues”.
