Third Grader”
Brief Description:
This is a presentation for open house developed
by students and the teacher to show parents what a day in the life of a third
grader is like. The power point
presentation includes pictures of students going about their daily routines
and activities. It also includes
written explanations to enhance parent understanding.
Subject(s)
integration
(time
required to complete lesson, e.g. "two 45-minute sessions")
The time of the presentation may vary depending
on how long you want to allot for each individual slide. I suggest looping the slide show for the
entire half hour of open house so that all parents have an opportunity to see
the show.

Special Comments:
Using a power point slide show, combined with
teacher and student discourse, enables the teacher to provide parents with an
understanding of a third grader’s typical day in school.
