Mini-lesson – 10 minutes

Goals:
(curriculum and unit related; National or State standards)

This power point presentation served as a teaching tool for myself.

Objectives:
(measurable specific activities conducted by students)

Students were able to look at the T.V. monitor during their independent practice to see what they needed to know in order to complete their work.

Teacher Materials/Resources:
(specific materials the teacher must have to conduct the lesson, e.g. Romeo and Juliet (video), American flag, etc.)

Wireless Mouse

Procedures:

I used this power point as a teaching tool.  As a mini-lesson during writing workshop, I introduced what dialogue was.  On the next slides I was able to directly teach the specifics of using dialogue when writing. While the students were writing independently, they were able to view the presentation and correctly use dialogue.

Assessment:

Evaluation of students’ writing
