4	Definitions “Action Research is a process for improving students’ educational experiences by systematically measuring what is happening to students in schools and taking positive actions to continually improve that experience.” (Hayden 1998)

12	Why do Action Research ? It improves understanding of teaching practices and puts proven practices into place. It puts teachers in the center of the research focus. It brings about positive change. It makes the results public so that others can share in the results of the research. It is a meaningful form of job-embedded professional development.
