There will be a ceremony to rededicate the varsity baseball field as the Ken Slater Field on Friday, May 16 at 3:30 p.m. Ken was a member of the IHS Class of ’57 and played catcher on the varsity baseball team during all of his four years at IHS. He then signed on with the Yankees and played for several farm teams before attending college to pursue a career in education. Ken taught physical education at IHS from 1963-1995. The scoreboard that was recently installed on the field bears Ken’s name.

There will be a reception for Coach Slater in the athletic office before the ceremony, beginning at 2:30 p.m. Please stop by and welcome him back to IHS.
